Instead of cable and internet, I use the library for movies, documentaries and music. I catch internet for free at the library as well. Ok, sometimes from my neighbor (thanks neighbor!)
Get together with friends for playdates and potlucks; instead of going out.
Parent Map and Seattle’s child are good sources to get family events for free.
I used to buy coffee five times a week. Now only 1 or 2.
Although we are going through tough times; I kept the house cleaning lady. I consider it a way to support the economy: she gets the job + I am less stress about cleaning my house (which means happier) = everybody wins!

Eating out less, when shopping for groceries not only do I use coupons I also think about what I will be cooking for the week. I was one to just grab and go. I have found out that by having an idea/list of what I need for the week saves some money. I have also limited the use of our multiple televisions.

I’ve started using the food bank for produce so that I can continue to afford to eat healthfully. This is great for me; otherwise I could never afford to eat the fresh fruits and veggies that make a healthy diet. I also take the bus when I don’t have other appointments, which helps save money on gas. And I have friends over instead of going out. It’s more fun anyway!

We’re reserving a lot more music, movies and books from the library (novel, I know!)…
