Food Banks in NY Serve Dogs

NY food banks begin serving dog food this week. The program is set to expand throughout the summer and include cats soon as well. The goal is to keep families (furry and not) together and help people spend money on human food, not pet food.

  1. I just came across this post while researching for an article on National Food Banks for dogs for my blog! Brandy and Val are two former rescue dogs (Val is a Hurricane Katrina survivor) and I am encouraging people to adopt from shelters and I hope to educate people through my blog on “crisis” issues facing abandoned dogs, people confronted with having to give up their pet as well as fun things about dogs. It’s great that so many organizations are realizing the need to include pet food in their human food banks and assistance organizations.
